With a deep rooted commitment and desire to lend a hand to others, especially within my hometown of Boston, volunteering my time to support causes I am passionate about is something I will always schedule. It enriches your life, familiarizes you with your community, and connects you to people and ideas that positively impact your perspective for the rest of your life.
GBFB is the largest hunger-relief organization in New England and among the largest food banks in the country. Last year, they distributed 117 million pounds of nutritious food to people who struggle to have enough to eat. They are committed to increasing their food distribution to provide three meals a day to every person in need in Eastern Massachusetts while supporting healthy lives and healthy communities.
The Greater Boston Food Bank is a member of Feeding America, the nation’s largest hunger-relief organization.
In 2007 JDI launched the Massachusetts White Ribbon Day campaign and joined an international human rights effort, the White Ribbon Campaign, to invite men and boys to be part of the solution in ending violence against women and all forms of gender-based violence. In 2017 JDI expanded on this work to create the Reimagine Manhood Initiative. By promoting healthy masculinities along with gender equity and racial justice, we believe that together we can foster safe and healthy relationships and communities.
